Please note we offer 2 types of NVQ:
If you have less than 5 years experience in industry please see this page covering the C&G 2357 NVQ. If you are unsure please call a course advisor on 01293 529777.
Please watch the explainer video and read all the content below, should you need anymore information or have any questions please give our course advisors a call.
If you have been working in the Electrotechnical industry for over 5 years and have not completed an industry apprenticeship or equivalent Level 3 NVQ, then this route is for you. It is suitable for both employed and self-employed persons within the industry. The key benefit of this route is that you existing qualifications, skills and experience can count towards the qualification, and you therefore only need to fill in the gaps.

Upon successful completion of the above you will be eligible to apply for a JIB Gold Card. We can offer both the installation and maintenance variants of this qualification at your request. This qualification is not suitable for new entrants to the electrotechnical industry, or for apprentices, or for those who have completed an electrotechnical technical qualification with less than five years relevant experience as an electrician. If you fall into these categories, please see the other routes to becoming an Electrician on our website.
The first step is to complete the pre-assessment on-line form (above) to determine your suitability for this qualification. We will then send you a Skill Scan to complete. This allows us to identify and advise on any areas that may require further development. After that we will contact you for sign-up onto the programme.
Once you are signed up, you will be assigned a dedicated assessor who will undertake an induction session with you and who will then support you through the whole process with a focus on how to gather the evidence quickly and effectively. They will also show you how to use our e-portfolio system and how to build your portfolio as well as answer any questions you may have along the way.
With your assessors support we estimate a very realistic timescale is 6-12 months to complete the NVQ. The qualification is site based and does not require attendance in centre, even the induction is carried out via an on-line meeting room. Communication with your assessor will be via email, telephone call and on-line meetings
We offer two routes on the C&G 2346 Qualification. Once you have completed your application, we will suggest Route A (£1763) or Route B (£2141). The two routes are priced differently as Route B requires more assessments. We will confirm your Route once you have completed the full skill scan document.
The units covered will vary based on the NVQ option you choose, installation or maintenance, but as guide you can expect to cover the following:
As stated above the Electrician NVQ covers assessments of your portfolio ,1x on-site assessment and observations.
On completion you will receive a formal C&G Level 3 2346 NVQ certificate.
The cost of this NVQ does not include the cost of the AM2E assessment which is required as your end point assessment. You can book this when you are ready directly with numerous AM2E test centres throughout the UK. Visit this page for more details: https://www.netservices.org.uk/center-list/
